Terms of use
The rules for both sides of the board, in the plainest language they can be written in.
Template — read before launch
This is a template. It describes how the software behaves today so that a qualified adviser has something factual to work from. It is not legal advice, it has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and several clauses below are deliberately left open because only the operator can decide them. Do not put this site in front of real users until this document has been reviewed and completed.
Drafted 14 August 2026. Updated 3 November 2026.
Version of these terms: 3 November 2026. The Privacy Policy has the same version.
What the service is
Role Den is a place where verified employers publish job listings and job seekers apply to them. The board is not an employment agency, not a recruiter, and not a party to any employment relationship that follows. It hosts listings and delivers applications; everything after that is between the employer and the applicant.
Who runs Role Den
Role Den is the job board on this site and in its apps.
Open clause: the legal entity that runs Role Den (its name, registered number, country and address) is not written here yet. Only the owner can fill it in.
Open clause: the board's public email address is not set yet. The contact page shows it once the owner sets it.
Accounts
- There are two kinds of account, employer and job seeker, and they are separate. An email address identifies one account.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password to yourself and signing out on shared machines.
- An employer account must be approved before its listings appear in public search. An administrator may reject or withdraw that approval, which removes those listings from public search.
- Details you give must be true. Registering on behalf of a company you have no authority to represent is a misuse of the service.
- The board does not check that an email address belongs to the person who registered it, except in two places: Continue with Google, where Google confirms the address first, and a company's work email, which gets one confirmation link when the host has a mail server set up. An unconfirmed address does not block anything.
- A company's owner can invite a team member by email. The link in the email works once, for 7 days, and the team member then acts for the company. The owner can remove them again.
Joining, and being 16 or older
You must be 16 or older to have an account. Signing up has one box, and you must tick it. For a job seeker it reads "I am 16 or older, and I agree to the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy." For a company it reads "I am 16 or older and may act for this business, and I agree to the Terms of Use, including the employer terms, and the Privacy Policy."
- The tick is the whole age check: the board asks for no birth date and makes no other check of your age.
- Without the tick the board refuses the sign-up. This includes a new account made with Continue with Google, and a team member accepting an invitation.
- The account keeps the version of the terms you agreed to and the time you agreed (UTC).
Employer terms
These are the employer terms that the company sign-up box names. They apply to the owner and to every team member who acts for the company.
Verification is a check on identity. It is not an endorsement of a company, a listing or a hiring decision, and it does not relieve an employer of any of the following.
- Every listing is a genuine opening you are authorised to advertise.
- You do not charge applicants a fee to apply, to be considered, or to be placed.
- Listings do not contain unlawful, discriminatory or misleading content, and do not ask applicants for payment details.
- You follow the posting rules, including the automatic check that refuses some wording and holds some listings for staff.
- Documents uploaded for verification are your own and are accurate.
- Applications you receive are used to fill the role advertised, and not for anything else.
- You send an approach only about a real job or offer: you pick one of your open listings or describe an offer. You can send one message to each profile, and the board refuses a second one.
- You do not copy the talent search, and you do not take profiles out of it in bulk.
- Team members act for the company, so these terms apply to what they do on the board too.
- A listing stays public for 60 days from the day it goes public, unless the board's staff set another time. After that it leaves the board. You can renew it if your plan allows. The time starts when an approved company posts a listing that is not held, when the company is approved (for a listing it saved while it waited), when staff release a held listing, or when you renew it. Pausing a listing does not stop the time.
What job seekers agree to
- The details and the CV you submit are your own and are accurate.
- You apply on your own behalf, not on behalf of someone else.
- Your profile is about you. You do not make a fake profile, or a profile for someone else.
- You do not use listings or contact details from this board to send bulk or unsolicited messages.
- You do not abuse or harass anyone, in a reply to a company or in anything else you send through the board.
- A report is honest: you report a listing, a message or a company only for a real reason, and you tell the truth in it.
The safety page says how to report and how to block a company.
Being found by employers
A job seeker's profile is private until they switch on employer discovery. Verified employers with a plan can then find job seekers who chose to be found, and send them one message; contact details are shared only after they reply. The privacy notice says what an employer sees. You can switch it off again at any time. You can also block a company: it can then no longer find you, shortlist you or send you an approach.
What the board's staff can do
Job seekers who are signed in can report a listing, a message from a company or a company, and can block a company (see the safety page). Board staff read the reports. This is what the staff can do.
- Board staff can take a job seeker's profile out of search (the reason is shown on the Profile page), can hold a listing for review, release it or close it (the note is shown to the company), and can delete a listing, an application or an account.
- Staff can also reject a company, or withdraw its approval. All of that company's listings then leave public search. A listing that staff close cannot be reopened by the company.
Plans and payment
A company needs a plan to publish a new listing, to reopen a listing, to renew one, and to search for job seekers and send approaches, unless a free launch is on (see below). Job seekers are never charged.
The price, currency and billing interval are set by the operator and shown before checkout. The interval is a month or a year. Payment is taken by Stripe: card details are entered on Stripe's pages, and this site stores the identifiers, status and billing period Stripe returns, and the events it sends.
- A plan renews by itself. It is a Stripe subscription, so it is charged again each month or each year, at the interval shown at checkout, until it is cancelled.
- A running plan keeps the price it started at. A new price applies only to plans that start after it is set.
- There is no free trial that starts by itself. Board staff can give a company a free period, with no card. A company that subscribes during a free period pays nothing until it ends, and still enters a card at checkout. If the free period has less than 48 hours left, the company subscribes after it has ended.
- You cancel on the Billing page, with Cancel subscription. The plan then stops renewing, and access continues to the end of the period already paid for. Resume plan undoes the cancel before that day. Your card and past invoices are in Stripe, which the Billing page links to.
- If a payment fails, the plan still counts as live while Stripe tries the card again, so posting keeps working. When Stripe stops trying, the plan no longer counts.
- When a plan is no longer live, the company cannot post a new listing, reopen a listing or renew one until it has a plan again. A listing that is already up stays up until its own end date.
- If board staff end a plan early, any billing in Stripe stops at once and the company's open listings are paused until a new plan starts. The board makes no refund by itself.
- For a time the board sets, a free launch may be on. While it is on, an approved company can post without a plan, and nothing is charged. When it ends, the open listings of companies that have no live plan are paused. The board sends no email about it.
Refunds
You can cancel at any time and keep access to the end of the period you have paid for. You get a full refund if you ask within 7 days of the first charge, or if you were charged by mistake (a billing error). Role Den staff make refunds, through Stripe. The board has no refund button, so ask through the contact page.
Your content
What you write stays yours: a listing belongs to the employer that posted it, and a CV or application belongs to the person who submitted it. By posting, you allow the board to store and display that content for the purpose of running the board. An employer can withdraw a listing, and a job seeker can delete their CV.
Availability and limits
The service is provided as it is. There is no guaranteed uptime, no promised response time, and no warranty that a listing is accurate or that an application will be read. The board does not verify the content of individual listings, salaries or employment terms, and it is not liable for what an employer or an applicant does with what they find here. Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Ending it
You can stop using the board at any time. You can delete your account yourself, on the site or in the app (the privacy notice says where and what it removes, and the delete account page lists the steps). If an account breaks these terms, board staff can reject a company or withdraw its approval, which takes its listings out of public search, or delete the account.
Changes
These terms change as the service changes. The version on this page is always the current one. When the version changes, a notice that says "We have updated our Terms and Privacy Policy." with links to both pages and an I agree button shows on the website, in the company console and in the app. It does not stop you using anything. The board does not email people when the terms change.
Governing law
Open clause: the governing law, and the courts that decide a dispute, are not written here yet. Only the owner and a lawyer can settle them.
Contact
Questions about these terms go through the contact page. The privacy notice sets out what the site stores about you. The posting rules say what a listing may say.
